Visiting, walking or hiking
The village of Poleymieux au Mont d'Or, in the heart of the Monts d'Or, is a picturesque village full of charm and accessible on foot from the Museum. With a remarkable natural area and houses made of Monts d'Or yellow stone, the village boasts an exceptional heritage (Rissler tower, cabornes path, geological path, etc.).A few steps from the museum you can admire the statue of Ampère made in 1909 by the sculptor André Vermare.
There are marked walking and hiking trails all around the Museum. You will find a small map at the Ampère Museum to guide you. About fifty walks and hikes of all levels and themes (geological and archaeological paths, local heritage,...) are proposed on this link.
If you are a group, you can get a guided walk with our partner, the association "La PIE Verte".
