On Friday, December 12, at the close of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of Ampère, two new display cases were inaugurated in the presence of Gérard Mourou, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics.
After removing the ribbon marking the new display dedicated to the discovery of electromagnetic induction, Gérard Mourou unveils a second display explaining how ultimate precision is achieved using light provided by laser beams.
The work that led to the Nobel Prize he received with Donna Stickland is presented there.
These two displays contain experiments that visitors can trigger.
