Special open day at the Ampere Museum

  • Saturday 19 September from 2 pm to 6 pm
  • Sunday 20 September from 10 am to 6 pm (all-day opening with the option to have a picnic on site).

Guided tours departing every hour (10.00 am, 11.00 am, 2.00 pm, 3.00 pm, 4.00 pm).

Fun, electricity-themed workshops for children: Saturday and Sunday from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Mini-lectures (20 mins)

  • Ampère around the world: a universal heritage! : Saturday 4.30 pm and Sunday 11.30 am
  • Ampère’s legacy: from the past to the future, still relevant today in healthcare, and far beyond! : Saturday 2.30 pm and Sunday 4.30 pm
  • Ampère’s ancestors: all from the Lyon region! : Sunday 10.30 am and 3.30 pm
  • Clean energy: what if it all started with the transmission and storage of electricity? : Saturday 3.30 pm
  • Hydrogen in transport: reality or pipe dream? : Sunday 2.30 pm


A special tour including private areas of the museum: Saturday and Sunday 5 pm


And also… a shop, refreshment bar, and tables available outside for picnics on site on Sunday.


Special admission price: €2 per person, €5 per family (up to 5 members aged 12 and over), free for under-12s.
