This project is part of 'Demain, un monde électrique' (Tomorrow, an electric world), a series of initiatives to ensure the 250th anniversary of his birth in 2025 is celebrated in the long term. This restoration project will create a space for temporary exhibitions and make the site more accessible to all visitors, particularly young people.
Restoration work on the chapel-sheepfold at the Maison d’André-Marie Ampère will begin in April 2026. This will include restoring the roof structure, repairing the roof, installing a false ceiling with thermal insulation and refurbishing the doors and floors.
This project is being carried out with the support of the Fondation du Patrimoine, thanks to donations collected as part of the fundraising campaign organised to mark Ampère’s 250th anniversary. You can make a donation to support the project HERE on the Fondation du Patrimoine’s official website.
The project also benefits from the support of Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
